An early chance for Easington saw them work the ball from the right to the far side where a shot on goal from Jay Roper was blocked by keeper Ollie Simpson. The hosts were soon ahead though when, from the corner on the left in the 2nd minute, a Synners clearance came as far as JOSHUA BARNETT who guided his shot into the net from the edge of the penalty area.

Billingham responded well to the early setback with Carl Williams having a shot blocked then Mitch Noble forced a save out of home keeper Antony Lowerson before seeing a second shot blocked by a defender.

More chances followed for Synthonia with Matty Willshaw turning his marker before sending a stinging shot on goal which Lowerson was able to block. Then a Noble cross from the left came to Williams who saw Lowerson tip his header over the bar.

After a Noble shot was blocked by the keeper, Easington had a couple of shots on goal which went wide of the target. Simpson then denied them a second goal with a good save.

Billingham were reduced to ten men in added-on time when Porritt received a second yellow card following a foul; his first yellow only a couple of minutes earlier, again for a foul.
