Synthonia progressed to the next round of The Buildbase FA Vase with striker Ben Henderson netting a hat-trick against FC Isle of Man.

Billingham looked to put the visitors under pressure from the off and within two minutes Henderson saw sight of goal only to see Isle of Man keeper Dean Kearns off his line to block. From the Max Craggs corner, Callum Banki created space to shoot, but over the bar.

An Isle of Man free-kick went wide before Synners were again threatening as Henderson was stopped in his tracks on the edge of the box and then John Howard saw a shot straight at Kearns.

Henderson was always looking threatening and he was released in on goal after a quarter of an hour with Kearns doing well to save with an outstretched leg. Foster Garton then crossed from the right to Henderson who headed back across goal to Jack Bailey who could only head wide.

The visitors advanced on goal with Jacob Crook seeing a shot wide of the target, but it was Synthonia who opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when they won a free-kick 25-yards out which MAX CRAGGS dispatched into the left corner of the net out of reach of the diving Kearns.

Isle of Man came back at Synners with a Lee Gale free-kick comfortable for Synners keeper Dan Dixon. They then advanced on the right and a ball into the near post saw Furo Davies send the ball wide.

FC Isle of Man levelled the game up with an equaliser in added-on time; a quick free-kick from Stephen Whitley along the right flank saw the ball crossed for FURO DAVIES bursting into the six-yard box and this time he made no mistake as he guided the ball past Dixon and in.

Half-time: Synners 1, FC Isle of Man 1

Billingham regained their advantage with a second goal in the 47th minute; Clark Kay's throw-in on the left was flicked on by Henderson to Howard who then played the ball back inside to BEN HENDERSON who had continued his run and saw his shot past Kearns and in.

Isle of Man threatened a minute after the goal with Taylor Andrews guiding a shot wide. Then a Davies free-kick saw him fire a low shot on goal which Dixon was behind to save.

The visitors were back on level terms in the 53rd minute with a ball forward releasing a player on the right who played across goal for FURO DAVIES to score from close range.

A pulsating cup-tie swung back in Billingham's favour as they found the net for a third time in the 60th minute; Ciaran Banks advanced on the right into the box and picked out BEN HENDERSON who shot home first-time into the bottom left corner of the net.

Synners threatened again when a free-kick into the box saw Josh Robotham head to Banks who volleyed over. Banks then made a run forward only to be stopped on the edge of the box, the loose ball coming to Howard who shot wide.

A fourth goal for Synthonia came in the 71st minute as Howard released Banks on the right and he sent in a cross for BEN HENDERSON to head home.

The Isle of Man looked for a way back into the game but other than a couple of blocked shots, Synners took the sting out of the game. They created one last chance in added-on time but substitute Sean Doyle shot wide with a close range shot on the right.
