Synthonia made the trip to Easington for the second time this week and left empty handed in a 2-1 defeat.

Synners had a dream start as they opened the scoring in the 5th minute wneh Max Craggs' free-kick was headed home by DANNY CHAPMAN.

The lead didn't last long though as Easington levelled the game up in the 7th minute when defender Adam McGuiness sent a long ball forward which was latched onto by LIAM ADAMSON who advanced into the box and slotted home past Synners keeper Jaan Yaqub.

Chances were kept to a minimum after the blistering start with Billingham coming closest when Craggs saw a shot deflect wide and then Matty Wilson drilling a shot just over following a half clearance after a Synners corner.

It was Easington Colliery who found the net again in the 36th minute when a ball forward to LIAM ADAMSON saw him somehow get something on the ball under pressure from a defender and keeper and send the ball into an empty net to give the hosts a half-time lead.

Half-time: Easington Colliery 2, Synners 1

Easington came close to extending their lead after the restart as Adamson saw a shot crash off the underside of the bar and bounce onto the goal-line before Yaqub was able to gather.

Either side of the hour mark and both sides had chances as firsty the hosts' Jonathan Pearson headed a right wing cross which went just wide of the target. Synthonia responded with Kurtis Howes seeing sight of goal, but his shot was over the bar.

An Easington corner from the right caused Billingham problems with a couple of efforts on goal being blocked by visiting defenders.

The last 25 minutes of the game saw very little in the way of chances with Adamson's first half brace enough to give Easington the points.
