A goal in each half secured the points for Synners over Willington.

Billingham opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 10th minute when Kurtis Howes was impeded in the box. KURTIS HOWES stepped up to convert the spot-kick.

Synthonia found the net again with Mason McNeill firing home, however he was flagged for offside. More chances were created and a Matty Wilson cross from the left saw Max Craggs head on goal, but saw the ball crash back off the cross-bar.

Billingham continued to create openings with Howes crossing from the right where the keeper spilled the ball; Wilson firing the loose ball over. Howes on the right again crossed into the box where McNeill guided a header wide of the target.

After a Willington shot went over the bar, Synners threatened with McNeill making a run on the right but a great tackle from a defender stopped him getting a close range shot off.

Half-time: Synners 1, Willington 0

An early Billingham chance after the restart saw a Clark Kay ball forward for Howes who slipped in Wilson to the left in the box, but he could only shoot over the bar.

Both sides had chances as the game approached the hour mark as firstly Willington's Reece Marshall drifted in from the right and saw Synthonia keeper Jaan Yaqub down to save. Wilson then had another good sight of goal on the left for Billingham as he collected the ball from a Howes flick-on and did well to shake off a defender, but again saw his shot over the bar.

Synthonia doubled their lead in the 65th minute with a free-kick on the left angle of the penalty area seeing MAX CRAGGS guide the ball round the defensive wall and into the net at the near post.

The visitors looked to get back into the game with substitute Josh Mills having a shot which went wide of the target. Then a cross from the left found Mills at the back post where he was denied by a great reaction save from Yaquub to preserve his clean sheet.
