Synthonia left it late again as they took the three points thanks to a Danny Chapman goal in added-on time.

Early chances for Billingham saw Chris Hardy shoot wide from the edge of the box and a Max Craggs free-kick on goal which was collected by Cestrian keeper Jack Wilson.

Synners continued to make advances on the visiting defence and after a Fred Woodhouse shot went wide, a quickly taken free-kick in midfield released Kurtis Howes on the left, but he saw his shot go just past the far post.

Chester-le-Street threatened on the half hour and a shot from the right was well blocked by Billingham keeper Jaan Yaqub, the loose ball fell to a yellow shirt with his shot being blocked by a Synners defender.

It was Synners who looked the more likely to open the scoring though with Woodhouse finding space to shoot, but over the bar. Howes was then released again on the left but his shot lacked any power and Wilson was able to gather.

The last chances of the half saw a Craggs free-kick on goal deflect with Wilson adjusting to save and then Ben Henderson on the right advance on goal and seeing Wilson tip his shot over the bar.

Half-time: Synners 0, Chester-le-Street Town 0

Synthonia continued to pose a threat after the re-start with Chapman firing on goal which Wilson saved. They got reward though when in the 65th minute Jimmy Ward swung in a cross from the left for MAX CRAGGS to head in.

Henderson had a shot on goal which Wilson saved and another Billingham shot was blocked by a visiting defender. Then Howes guided a shot past the post as Synners continued to create openings.

Chester-le-Street advanced as Yaqub saved from a shot from the left, the resulting corner seeing a long range shot deflect over. From that corner on the right though they levelled the game up as CHARLIE ARMIN squeezed a header home at the near post.

Synners were soon back on the offensive with Henderson crossing from the left for Connor Johnson to head wide. Howes then found space to shoot which Wilson managed to scramble to make the save.

It looked like Billingham would rue missed chances in a game where they created many, but in the 93rd minute Craggs sent in a free-kick from the right which was met by DANNY CHAPMAN to head in.
