Billingham had to settle for a point after a dramatic late equaliser from Horden with the keeper heading home an added-on time corner.

The first half saw Synthonia with a strong wind at their backs and they looked to take advantage from the off as Ben Henderson and John Howard combined with Henderson seeing his shot on goal blocked by a Horden defender. From the corner on the left Connor Johnson saw his header only inches over the bar.

After a quarter of an hour Henderson made advances on the Horden goal, but could only shoot wide of the target. Luek Drummond then headed in, but that was chalked off for a foul on keeper Graeme Pickering.

Billingham found the opener in the 27th minute when after JOHN HOWARD was fouled, he stepped up to score the free-kick from all of 30-yards out.

Horden had a chance to level the game when a ball in from the left found Jack Maskell who saw his effort wide under pressure from Billingham keeper Jaan Yaqub.

Synthonia doubled their lead in the 45th minute with Max Craggs playing to JOHN HOWARD to the right of goal who drilled his shot into the far side of the net.

After the break and Billingham looked to further extend the lead with Henderson on the right picking out Howard who saw his shot blocked by a defender. Horden then advanced as Maskell turned and shot at goal which Yaqub got down to to make the save.

With the hosts pressing, Synners always looked good on the counter as Henderson set up Howard who side stepped the keeper before seeing a defender make a great block to deny him, the loose ball came to Henderson who shot wide.

The home side came close when a ball from the left saw a shot on goal which Yaqub scrambled to save, Horden regained possession as the ball was sent back into the box where a close range shot saw Johnson block on the goal-line.

Horden eventually found the net in the 80th minute when a through-ball found JOE SPALDING on the right who saw his low shot under Yaqub and in.

More chances came for Horden as a shot was fired over and then a corner from the right saw an effort on goal which hit the underside of the cross-bar before Synthonia were able to clear.

Synners again countered as the game approched the 90th minute with Henderson making advances to the right; his shot though just wide of the near post.

The home side grabbed the equaliser with the last play of the game in the third minute of added-on time as the keeper went forward when they gained a corner on the right and keeper GRAEME PICKERING reaped the reward as he headed home the flag-kick.
