Synthonia got back to winning ways and took all three points against Blyth Town with Assistant Manager David Onions taking temporary charge following the resignation of Gary Forster to take up a position at Bishop Auckland.
It was a bright start from Synners and after 10 minutes a Max Craggs free-kick from the left was wide of the near post. Another Craggs free-kick saw a good defensive header as Luke Drummond was poised to head home.
Blyth threatened in the 21st minute with Callum Johnston to the right bringing a good save out of Billingham keeper Dan Dixon. Synthonia were then denied as a Craggs corner from the right was cleared as far as Kurtis Howes who bulleted a shot goalwards which struck off Michael Joseph and in, unfortunately though the ball had deflected in off the hand of the defender.
Both sides saw efforts on goal comfortable for both keepers before a Clark Kay ball from the left for Ben Henderson saw him thread through to Craggs; his shot blocked by keeper Callum Corkhill and the ball spun agonisingly wide. From the 36th minute Craggs corner though, Billingham opened the scoring as he sent the flag-kick in from the right to LUKE DRUMMOND to head in.
A shot from the right from Synners skipper Foster Garton was blocked, Blyth then advanced with a ball out of defence to ex-Synner Brandon Slater who shot over from the edge of the box.
The last chance of the half was created by Synthonia as a strong McNeill run saw him brought down just outside the box; Craggs' free-kick though deflected wide off the defensive wall.
Half-time: Synners 1, Blyth Town 0
The visitors were level within 60 seconds of the restart with some good work from Ben Gaffney on the left culminated in his shot being blocked with the ball coming to DYLAN McGILL who headed home from close range.
A McGill shot went wide for Blyth before Billingham threatened again with Henderson threading a ball through to McNeill in on goal to the right with his prodded shot going just wide.
A rasping shot from Slater on the hour mark saw Dixon save, again Synners responded and found a second goal in the 71st minute. Substitute Liam Graham created space to shoot inside the box which deflected off a defender and came to KURTIS HOWES to fire in from the edge of the six-yard box.
A Ciaran Banks shot from the right was blocked and then a Craggs cross saw Drummond denied by Corkhill as Billingham pressed for a third. Howes then played in Graham in the 76th minute, Corkhill again keeping him out with an outstretched leg.
A third for Synthoina came in the 88th minute with Craggs sending a free-kick in from the left for LUKE DRUMMOND to head home to make sure of the points.
