There were chances for both sides in the opening exchanges as firstly a Mason McNeill shot for Synners saw Stan keeper Dan Regan save comfortably. The visitors responded with a James Proctor shot which keeper Dan Dixon saved and then a cross from the right which saw a header just over.

The game settled into an up and down affair with both sides having attacks, buit in the main neither keeper was called into action.

On the half hour a Heaton Stannington move forward saw Leighton Hopper have an effort on goal which Dixon was able to save with an outstretched leg.

That was the last real goal attempt with the last quarter of an hour seeing lots of free-kicks which disrupted any rythmn in play.

A second goal for the visitors came in the 60th minute with LIAM MCBRYDE seeing his shot deflect past Dixon and in.

Synthonia looked for a way back into the game but the Heaton defence stood firm with only a Brad Mills corner from the right seeing Luke Bythway head wide.

Synners were denied by the frame of the goal as the game entered it's last ten minutes as substitute Ben Henderson sent in a great strike which left Regan with no chance of saving, unfortunately the ball came crashing off the underside of the bar and bounced on the goal line, Kurtis Howes from the loose ball saw his shot blocked by a defender.
