Billingham continued to press as Brooklyn Miller advanced with the ball out of defence and played to Howard who flashed a shot just wide of the right hand post.

A second goal came in the 33rd minute with KURTIS HOWES making a mazy run from the left into a central position on the edge of the penalty area and tucked the ball home just inside the left hand upright.

Synners continued to look for a third with Mills crossing from the left to the far side for Howard who controlled the ball well but shot over the bar.

As the game passed the hour mark the visitors threatened when a long throw on the right was met by a header on goal which Yaqub saved. Billingham then threatened again with McNeill on the right forcing Hubery to save again from his shot. Moments later and McNeill tried a shot from distance which went just wide of the target.

Jarrow did find the net in the 77th minute when a Blackburn shot was blocked by Yaqub and the loose ball fell to substitute Channon North who found the net, but he was in an offside position and the goal was chalked off.
