Horden took until the half hour to threaten the Synners goal with a Neil Fannen shot well over. They then won a free-kick on the right which was half cleared by the Billingham defence as far as Joshua Broom who shot over the bar.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring when in the 52nd minute a cross from the right fell for CHRIS TARN who sent a great strike over Dan Dixon and in.

Synthonia advanced on the hour mark when substitute John Howard played in Howes who again brought a block out of Griffiths.

The breakthrough for Billingham came in the 69th minute as KURTIS HOWES received the ball in the box to the left of goal and drilled a shot home into the far bottom corner of the net.
