Billingham progressed to the next round of the County Cup with a 5-0 win over Sunderland West End.

Both sides created chances in the opening ten minutes, Synthonia's Kurtis Howes shot went just past the post and a West End free-kick into the box saw a header on goal which Synners keeper Richie Heslin saved.

Synners threatened on quarter of an hour as D'Andre Wainwright was challenged in the box but found Joe Scaife Wheatley who brought a save out of West End keeper Neal Bussey.

Billingham opened the scoring in the 24th minute from the penalty spot when KURTIS HOWES was fouled in the box and he stepped up to convert the resulting spot-kick.

Another Synners move forward saw Wainwright and Gary Redman create a chance for Kurtis Howes; Bussey making the save. A second goal though came in first half added on time with Redman on the right sending in a ball across goal for SCOTT HOWES to net from close range.

Half-time: Synners 2, Sunderland West End 0

Synthonia made it three in the 53rd minute when a run forward from debutant Jack Bennett saw him thread the ball through to KURTIS HOWES who went round the keeper and slotted home his second of the night.

The visitors came close to getting back in the game when a shot from the right from Daniel Maddison saw the ball crash against the cross-bar.

Billingham were soon creating further chances and a fourth came in the 65th minute as a ball in from the right found the head of substitute JACK RANDALL and into the net for a debut goal.

Substitute Matthew Wilson came close when his shot went over the keeper, but was struck the post. He wasn't to be denied a goal though; a 70th minute free-kick following a foul on Wainwright saw David Hillerby roll the ball to MATTHEW WILSON who sent in a great strike from outside the box which left Bussey no chance of saving.
