Synthonia earned themselves the three points thanks to three well executed first half goals on a wet afternoon at the Norton Sports Complex.

A second Billingham goal came after 17 minutes with Howes turning provider as he found JACK BAILEY who fired a shot into the net.

An early Synthonia chance after the re-start saw Gary Redman make a strong run forward and play into substitute Joshua Simpson; his shot on goal blocked by Dekanski.

The game settled into a midfield slog as the rainy conditions worsened making the pitch heavy and chances were kept to minimum from both teams.

Newcastle University came close to pulling a goal back with a couple of chances in the last ten miutes as firstly a Keith Douglas shot from the right went past the far post and then a Conrad Zylko shot forced Dawson into a diving save to preserve his clean sheet.
