Synners made it 3 wins from 3 in February after battering Newcastle University by 6 goals to nil. DANNY EARL was the first on the score sheet when he latched onto a long punt upfield, he somehow managed to stay on onside despite appeals from the home side. He composed himself in front of goal and hit a shot which flew in off the inside of the post. Newcastle Uni 0, 1 Synners.

Only a couple of minutes after the first goal, Synners were 2 up after an impressive finish from MATTY WILSON. Wilson ran down the right flank and cut in on his left foot which he used to whip a quick and powerful effort at the keepers front post. Backhouse couldn't react quick enough and Synners were two up inside the first quarter of the game. Newcastle Uni 0, 2 Synners.

On the 28th minute DANNY EARL gabbed the third of the game and his second. Josh Howard was played through on goal but was brought down by Backhouse who came charging out of his goal recklessly. Danny Earl stepped up to take the penalty which was awarded and slotted it home to the keepers right. The keeper dived the right way but couldn't keep the effort out. Newcastle Uni 0, 3 Synners.

The half time whistle came with Synners 3-0 up and the second half mirrored that of the first. 2 goals from Danny Earl and a great finish from Matty Wilson meant Synners had something to show for their dominance so far.

Half-time: Newcastle University 0, Synners 3

10 minutes into the first half DANNY BOYLE popped up with a 4th for Synners, as the momentum from the first period continued. Boyle received the ball 30 yards out from goal and saw an opportunity to test the goalkeeper. His shot flew into the bottom right corner out of the keepers reach. Newcastle Uni 0, 4 Synners.

ALEX BRUTON got his obligatory goal when he nicked in front of the defender and tapped in a cross from Matty Wilson. Bruton caught the Newcastle defender flat footed and reacted quickly to put the ball in the back of the net. Newcastle Uni 0, 5 Synners.

The sixth and final goal of the game came from ALEX BRUTON who secured his double with a volley from outside the area. Matty Wilson switched the ball to Bruton who tried his luck with a first time effort, with the ball sailing past Backhouse and into the net. Newcastle University 0, 6 Synners.

The 6-0 victory away at Newcastle is made more impressive when you consider the home side recently beat league leaders West Allotment Celtic 4-1 away from home. Synners are well and truly in the middle of a promotion battle, with the momentum very much in their favour.
