Synners faced off against high-flying Redcar Athletic on Saturday, with the home side sitting 2nd in the table. Staying with this theme, it was in the 2nd minute that Synners took an early lead. After some one touch football near the Redcar box, DANNY BOYLE hit an effort from just outside the area which settled in the bottom right corner. Lawrence made half an effort to get down to the ball but couldn't prevent an early goal. Redcar 0, Synners 1.

Synners were controlling the game, creating promising opportunities, but they couldn't extend their lead. What could have been a major setback for Synners happened in the latter stages of the first- half. Matty Lovatt seemed to have won the ball with a hard challenge inside the Redcar half, but the referee adjudged Lovatt of using excessive force and subsequently brandished a red card leaving Synners down to 10 men with 5 minutes left to play in the first half.

Although being a man down, Synners were able to double their lead before the break when DAN MYERS hit a freekick from around 30 yards out which sailed past everyone and landed in the back of the net. It was a strong first-half performance from Synners which was overshadowed by some controversial decisions from the officials. Redcar 0, 2 Synners.

Half-time: Redcar Athletic 0, Synners 2

Synners almost went 3 up at the beginning of the second-half when Alex Bruton whipped in a cross from the edge of the area which was met by Danny Earl. Earl headed his effort straight at the keeper who was able to push wide for a corner.

In the 66th minute Redcar pulled a goal back to half the deficit. A corner floated to the back post was cushioned home by CONNOR SMITH. Smith seemed to be under little pressure and was able to take his time when side-footing the ball into the Synners net. Redcar 1, 2 Synners.

Synthonia waited with baited breath as the referee blew his whistle after a coming together in the Synners box. Two players collided in between a mass of bodies with a player from each side being left on the floor. The referee took his time before awarding a freekick for the away side, much to the frustration of the Redcar players.

Alex Bruton made a jinxing run into the Redcar box, avoiding a number of challenges. He was able to cut inside onto his right foot and hit a low shot but the goalkeeper was able to parry. Dom O'connor picked up the loose ball and began a short period of quick passing around the opponents box, which eventually resulted in a shot being fired high and wide.

The conditions were awful and Redcar were piling on pressure, but Synners managed to hold onto their one goal lead and brought 3 points back to Billingham.
