The early exchanges of the game saw both teams having chances to cause problems from set pieces, both defences coming out on top.

It was West End who opened the scoring when in the 24th minute a cross from the left from Reece Thompson found BRAD FORSTER who headed home unchallenged.

The visitors forced a good save out of Billingham keeper Tom Orton when a Robert Hall free-kick saw the keeper see the ball over the bar. Synthonia levelled the game up before the break from teh penalty spot as a quickly taken free-kick to Alex Bruton saw him lift the ball into the box where Noble was challenged by Thompson; Referee Mr Beresford pointing to the spot. DANNY BOYLE stepped up to convert from twelve yards for the second successive match.

Half-time: Synners 1, Sunderland West End 1

Synthonia started the second period well, but couldn't work any shots on visiting keeper Neil Bussey's goal. They then created good openings with a shot from the right angle of the box striking the left upright; Bruton followed in with a shot which was pushed away by Bussey.

At the other end a corner from the right saw a shot over the bar and a cross from the left found Mark Robinson who couldn't take his chance.

In the latter stages of the game Bruton made good run forward for Billingham, but his shot on goal was tame. For West End, a good shooting position saw a shot sail over the bar.
