An even first half saw the match go in at the break goal-less with Billingham rueing a missed opportunity from the penalty spot.

Synners came close when a Nico Weatherald free-kick was turned just wide by Lewis Minter. For Barnoldswick, they were denied by the post on 22 minutes. Synthonia were awarded a penalty in the 38th minute when Scott Howes was fouled, but Kallum Hannah sent his spot kick wide of the target.

After 50 minutes Howes was again fouled in the box to give Billingham another chance from twelve yards; Weatherald took the kick this time but was denied by home keeper Ryan Livesey.

Barnoldswick opened the scoring in the 54th minute as a free-kick from the right from skipper ANDREW HILL was too powerful for Callum Roberts in the Synners goal to keep out.

Billingham tied the game up in the 75th minute to force a Wednesday evening replay as BEN POLLOCK muscled his way into the box and shot home.
