Synthonia left Esh Winning empty handed after a 71st minute goal gave the home side the three points.
Billingham created a few chances in the first period, the first of which saw Ben Pollock feed in Cameron Wilson who saw his shot past the post. This was folowed by a Tom Bligh shot from distance which went narrowly over the bar.
Synners continued to probe and from a corner Pollock headed on goal, but straight at Esh Winning keeper Thomas Orton. Alex Bruton then cut in from the left and his cross was headed toward goal from a defender which brought a good save out of Orton. Further chances for Bruton were denied by Orton and the game remained scoreless going in at the break.
Half-time: Esh Winning 0, Synners 0
The second half was a lot more even, but Billingham still created the better chances as Lewis Dalton brought a save out of Orton, the home side then threatened, but shot wide.
The only goal of the game came in the 71st minute when a long throw-in from the left into the box from skipper Max Stoker was headed on to the back post where JOE MOLE squeezed a header in between Synners keeper Callum Roberts and the post.
After the goal, Synthonia's best chance to get anything out of the game was a free-kick after substitute Dylan Gnaglo was fouled about 25 yards from goal, Gnaglo took the free-kick which was dipping in before Orton palmed the ball over the bar.
