Synners had to settle for a point after twice coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Bedlington Terriers.
It was the visitors who started the game the better and Synthonia kepper Callum Roberts was called into action in the 9th minute with a great reaction save. The Terriers though, opened the scoring in the 12th minute as a ball played across goal from the right saw OLIVER MARTIN score from close range.
The goal seemed to wake Billingham up and they came close to equalising a minute later when Connor Smith was denied by a goal-line block. Synners then levelled after 23 minutes as a ball forward for CONNOR SMITH saw him beat the offside and prod home under advancing Bedlington keeper Sean McCafferty.
Half-time: Synners 1, Bedlington Terriers 1
Bedlington re-gained the lead just seconds after the re-start with STEPHEN YOUNG receiving the ball from the right in the box and shooting home. Synthonia responded again and Smith brought a good save out of McCafferty in the 53rd minute and then ten minutes later the striker was agained denied by the keeper as McCafferty blocked Smith's shot with his legs.
Billingham continued to probe and after a foul on Foz Garton, Ben Pollock saw his free-kick over the wall and goalkeeper but saw the ball crash back off the cross-bar. Synthonia then tied the game up again when, in the 81st mninute, a quickly taken corner saw the ball to subsitute TOM BLIGH who sent in a rocket of a shot from the right angle of the box which nestled into the bottom left corner of the net.
Both sides had chances to take all three points in the closing stages as firstly Bedlington's Bradley Higgins saw a close range effort wide, and then Synthonia's Smith saw his shot heading in before a brilliant diving save from McCafferty saw him tip the ball over the bar.
