It was Billingham who made the better start and created good chances with Matthew Wilson setting up Kallum Hannah who could only shoot wide. A good Synners move then saw the ball played into Nico Weatherald who brought a save out of Northallerton keeper Thomas Dawson at his near post.

Synthonia were denied by the woodwork as Wilson on the right saw his cross over the keeper but hit the far upright. The hosts then had chances as Andrew Ramsbottom shot wide from a free-kick and then Nicky Martin shot into the side netting.

The second period saw Synners reduced to ten men in the 50th minute when Weatherald was shown a straight red. A minute later and Billingham should have been ahead when Ben Pollock headed home a cross, but was somehow deemed to be offside and the goal was chalked off.

Billingham continued to create chances as Dom Joynes on the left shot narrowly wide and then a Wilson free-kick was cleared as far as substitute Matty Hughes who forced a save out of Dawson. It was the hosts who took the points though with a goal in the 93rd minute when AARON RAMSBOTTOM netted from close range.
