Billingham worked hard to gain the three points against Esh Winning with Kallum Hannah's penalty kick the only goal separating the two sides.

Synners created some half chances in the first period but they had keeper Callum Roberts to thank on the half hour as he pulled off a great reaction save to deny Esh Winning's Joe Mole.

Synthonia almost found a breakthrough after 40 minutes as a strong Ben Pollock run forward saw him have a shot which deflected wide. From the corner and defender Ryan Grier brought a save out of visiting keeper Thomas Orton.

Half-time: Synners 0, Esh Winning 0

Billingham had the better of the second half and created some great openings; the best of which saw a Tom Bligh free-kick set up Hannah who turned and shot agonisingly wide of the right hand upright.

The only goal of the game came shortly after when, after Pollock was upended in the box, KALLUM HANNAH stepped up to convert from the penalty spot on 60 minutes.

Synthonia had chances to extend the lead with a good run from impressive debutant Alex Bruton from the right seeing him shoot just wide. Then Hannah released Bligh on goal with the midfielder going one on one with the keeper; only to shot inches wide of the target.
