Synners had to settle for a point away at Redcar Athletic with the home side tieing the game up deep into stoppage time.
There were chances for both sides in the first five minutes as Synners' Louis Johnson saw a shot saved by Will Lawrence and Redcar's McCorie Carmicheal firing wide. Johnson then saw a shot deflect wide and the resulting corner came to Foster Garton who shot over from the edge of the box.
Redcar crossed from the right on 32 minutes and a header on goal was straight at Synners keeper Callum Roberts. A minute later and Synthonia advanced with Johnson shooting across goal where Reece Kelly slid in and only just failed to connect with the goal gaping.
The opening goal came to Billingham in the 37th minute as Clark Reader raced through on goal only to be denied by Lawrence; the ball came to LOUIS JOHNSON who shot home into an empty net.
Half-time: Redcar Athletic 0, Synners 1
A Garton shot early after the break saw Lawrence make a good save, at the other end Roberts was called into action and smothered the ball at a striker's feet. Athletic then had a good spell but the Synners rearguard stood firm.
Redcar snatched a point right at the death when in the 95th minute a ball was played across goal from the left and ex-Synner JOEL CALLENDER got the last touch in a packed box to see the ball into the net from close range.
