Synthonia travelled to Hartlepool United in the Durham County Cup and lost out by the odd goal in a 7-goal thriller.

Billingham opened the scoring early on when a 6th minute Jordan Jewson free-kick from the right came to LEWIS WOOD at the back post who netted. The hosts hit back with a leveller in the 34th minute with TOMI ADELOYE playing a one-two to split the defence and score.

Hartlepool were reduced to ten-men before the break when Devante Rodney was shown a straight red for a challenge on Alex Nelson which left him on crutches. Synners regained the lead in first half added-on time with WOOD firing in a ball from Jewson.

The hosts tied the game up again when in the 52nd minute LEWIS HAWKINS was given space to run at goal and send in a good strike past keeper James Dawson. Again Billingham regained the advantage with WOOD claiming his hat-trick after seeing home close range Jewson's shot.

Pools then scored two goals in two minutes to turn the game on its head with a header from ADELOYE in the 57th minute and a 59th minute JOSH HAWKES goal seeing them into the next round.
