Billingham Synthonia Bedlington Terriers
Match Report: 15/08/07
Billingham Synthonia 3, Bedlington Terriers 0

Arngrove Northern League Division 1

Synners kept up their winning start to the season at the newly named PTS Stadium, Central Avenue.

In a hotly contested first half that threatened on numerous occasions to boil over, it was Synthonia who created the better chances.

SHAUN HOPE opened the scoring on 15 minutes - his second goal in as many matches. Finding the net through a crowded box.

The game continued to be tight in the middle of the park with a few hefty challenges being let go by the officials. With both Colin Iley and Neil Campbell having to receive treatment from the physio.

Half-time: Synners 1, Terriers 0

Bedlington came out in the second period in search of an equaliser, but the Billingham defence were never really penetrated.

Synners 'keeper John Jackson had only one notable save save to make, diving to his left to deny a Terriers effort.

On 80 minutes COLIN ILEY was on hand to fire home a rebound after Neil Radigan saw his shot hammer the post from 20 yards.

Then on 88 minutes, as the Terriers pushed forward to salvage the game, COLIN ILEY made it three after good work from Neil Campbell. This was Iley's third strike in two games, and is getting the habit of being in the right place at the right time.
