Billingham won 5-2 at home against Morpeth Town this afternoon in the skilltrainingltd Northern League Division 1. James Magowan opened the scoring, heading home a Colin Iley cross (7 mins). Morpeth leveled from the penalty spot through Marc Walton, following a Stephen Morrison foul (37 mins). Billingham regained the lead before the break with Darren Hollingsworth capitalising on a dropped catch by the keeper (43 mins). A strong Andy Harbron header forward set up Danny Earl who extended Synners' lead (74 mins). Earl was again on the scoresheet as he nicked the ball off a defender following a corner to score (80 mins). Earl then completed his hat-trick with a great strike that although the keeper got a hand too, couldn't keep it out (89 mins). In a change to the fixture list, the Durham Challenge Cup Final has been confirmed as Good Friday the 2nd April 2010 with a 10:45am Kick-Off. The Home game against Spennymoor Town, due to be played Saturday 3rd April, has been brought forward to Wednesday 24th March. Fixture List >

Synthonia went through to their second Durham Challenge Cup Final in as many years with a gritty extra-time 2-1 win away against Shildon this evening in the Durham Challenge Cup Semi-Final. Striker James Magowan latched onto a great Colin Iley cross to give Billingham the lead (35 mins). The Railwaymen levelled from the penalty spot through Warren Byrne after a hand ball in the area (53 mins). Synners booked a place in the Easter weekend final from the penlaty spot which Magowan coolly converted following a foul on Iley (104 mins). Match Report >

Billingham drew 2-2 at home against Esh Winning this evening in the skilltrainingltd Northern League Division 1. Synthonia opened the scoring when James Magowan lobbed the advancing keeper (43 mins). The visitors levelled early in the second half through Alex Wilson (47 mins), before Craig Coates gave them the lead from the penalty spot (68 mins). Synthonia grabbed a point when Liam McPhillips met a Colin Iley cross (89 mins).

After a goal-less first half where Billingham more than matched their lofty opponents, it was The Seahorses who opened the scoring when a James Moore cross was deflected into his own net by Leon Carling (49 mins). Synthonia hit back when a low long range shot from Stephen Morrison found the bottom corner of the net (54 mins).
